Mr. Christian Sottie was elected as the 27th President of the Institute of Chartered Accountants (Ghana) at the Annual General Meeting (AGM) held on Friday, 29th July 2016.
A member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants (Ghana), Christian qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1985 and was admitted into membership that same year. He is currently consulting for The Pacific Institute of Seattle, USA as their local representative. Their training programmes encompass leadership, organisational improvement, good governance and personal development.
Christian is a former Controller and Accountant-General and was the Vice President of the Forum for Accountants-General and Auditors-General for West Africa (FAAGWA).
He started his professional training with Agyei, Dankwa & Co Chartered Accountants from 1980 to 1985 until he qualified and went into industry. He worked with the then CEPS, as Chief Collector and rose to become the Assistant Collector, Field Audit, Warehousing & Post Clearance Audit Unit.
He has been an ICAG Council member since 2004. He was Vice President during the 2014-2016 tenure. He also served as a Council member of the Association of Accountancy Bodies of West Africa.
He is happily married and has three (3) children.
