List of Licensed auditing firms for 2014

List of licensed firms for 2014 that have fulfilled all the prescribed requirements of The Institute. The Licences are valid until 31 December 2014. Click List of Licensed Auditing Firms.pdf to download.

**  Firms have been categorised for the purposes of applying the appropriate licence fees. The criteria was basically on revenue levels, number of partners and number of staff as reported by firms. The categories range from A1 to D, with A1 being firms with the highest revenue levels and in that order.

*** These firms are incorporated under The Companies Code 1963 (Act 179) and are  not qualified to be  an auditor of a company as provided for in Section 134(2) of Act 179.  Consequently, these firms can provide all other services except statutory audit services. They have been advised accordingly  and are in the process of regularising the status of their firms to enable them provide statutory audit services, in accordance with Act 179, in addition to the other services.

ICAG signs partnership agreement with CIPFA

The Institute of Chartered Accountants (Ghana) (ICAG) and the Chartered Institute of Public Finance and Accountancy (CIPFA), are delighted to announce the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU).

The MOU cements the relationship between the two bodies and creates a framework for the two institutes to work together to promote good Public Financial Management (PFM) practices in Ghana. Both Institutes have identified strengthening the capacity of finance professionals across government as a key priority. Support for IPSAS implementation in Ghana is also an essential element of the collaboration.

The partnership will also help to ensure that the voice of the accounting profession is heard on issues of public interest regarding public financial management, economic and fiscal policy within Ghana.

CIPFA International Chairman, Ian Ball, who recently visited Ghana said:

“The Institute of Chartered Accountants (Ghana), has adopted a leadership role through its clear recognition of the need for strengthened public financial management. We have seen strong support from government and the public sector in Ghana for an agreement between our two institutes.

For CIPFA, it is a real honour to have the opportunity to use our knowledge, resources and experience to work in partnership with ICAG and governmental institutions within Ghana.

Presidency Re-Agenda 2014-16

The presidency of the newly-elected Council of the Institute has drawn up a strategic document, dubbed, Presidency Re-Agenda 2014-2016. It outlines programmes of action as envisioned by the presidency for 2014-2016.

Comments and suggestions will be greatly appreciated to ensure the strengthen of the governance framework of the Council and enhance the Institute’s  relevance in Ghana’s economic development in the long term.

The Institute of Chartered Accountants (Ghana), (ICAG), wishes to announce to all candidates who sat for the May 2014 CA professional examinations that, the results would be released on Wednesday, 9th July 2014.

Candidates who sat for the exams can visit the Institute's website at after 9th July, 2014 to check their results.
